Normally a place for clothes that have been discarded by days end, the ledge by my window has become my favorite spot in my apartment. So much so, that I wanted to create a comfy place to have a morning cup of coffee, sit and people watch or just run my lines. I got some great striped fabric from Mood’s Home Department on the first floor — and I’m in love with my new spot!
SUPPLIES: Cushion (I bought mine on eBay for $32), striped home decor fabric, glue, velcro, straight edges, straight pins, ink pen, scissors, a box cutter (that wound up working better than a rotary cutter), and a sewing machine.
HOW-TO:
2. Wrap your fabric tautly around the cushion inside out and then pin it into place (Note: I did it on the right side first just to see how it would lay). Next you’ll fold in the edges of the end of the cushion like you would the end of a Christmas present (note: you have to play with it a bit to get it right).
3. This is how the pinned edge looks without the cushion in it.
5. This is how the end looks that was folded in like a Christmas present, after I cut it. (I unfolded it so you could see it).
6. Sew up the long side, and this is how the ends will look once you’ve done that.
7. Sew up one end.
8. Fold the remaining end tautly to see where you want your elastic to land — glue it in place. Allow it to dry open for several hours. Slide your cushion in and you are all set.

In step 8, was it Velcro or Elastic? I think you mentioned both at different times.
