I’m tired of looking for a particular type of sandal and when I do find it, it’s extremely expensive! What’s better than discontentment to bring out your inner designer? Well I’ll show you a super inexpensive DIY project to make the perfect lace up sandal for the summer. The best part about it? You can change up the fabric whenever you want to have a brand new sandal, each and every time!
LET’S GET STARTED!!!
Sandals (WalMart $8), Fabric (1 yd), & Scissors
ON TO THE FUN!!!
STEP 1:
Start by folding your fabric in half. Then double your fold to get four nicely laid layers.
STEP 2:
Cut (2) four to five inch strips of the fabric. Now separate the pieces you cut out. You should have four equal pieces of your desired fabric. (Note: You may have to pink the edges of any fabric that frays a lot. Mood’s Pinking Shears My silk was ridiculous so this step was mandatory for me.)
STEP 3:
Using two strips of fabric, tie a double-knot around the toe divider of the sandal to secure in place.
STEP 4:
(Excuse the fraying.) Wrap the remainder of each strip around the thongs of the sandal until each side is completely covered. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to the other sandal. (Optional: The ends of the strips by the toe may be too long for your liking. Here’s your chance to be creative! You can make a bow if you want! I just pinked mine. Lol) & finally just wrap the straps up your leg and……
THAT’S ALL FOLKS!!!
