Cotton Batiste Fabric

As one of the softest, lightweight and nearly opaque cottons, Batiste is a fine textile composed of a balanced plain weave which typically forms a basic criss-cross pattern. This fabric originated in 1300’s by weaver John-Baptiste Cambray. During this time, it was mainly used for handkerchiefs. Now-a-days, batiste is typically used for blouses, lingerie, and in high quality clothing as a lining. The abundance of Batiste we offer here at Mood is of the cotton variety and comes in various colors and patterns.
