You almost have to feel this cashmere knit to believe it. Whisper-light and soft to the touch, its soft lilac color is practically a bonus. With its soft drape, it just begs to be made into a light cardigan or wrap for cool evenings.

Learn about fabric careHOW TO CARE FOR WOOL FABRICS: Dry-cleaning is recommended, though some wools can take hand washing. Always test a swatch first if you are going to care for your wool fabrics at home rather than using a drycleaner. Many of the fine wools Mood sells online and in-store have already been "sponged," or preshrunk, but you can preshrink your wool if necessary. Mood recommends taking your uncut wool fabric to the drycleaners and asking them to steam it for you, which will safely preshrink it more effectively than you can using home methods. Mood strongly recommends test-laundering a swatch, if you plan to wash your garment or home furnishings yourself.
Results from washing

I washed and dried half of my swatch in a load of clothes, using warm water and permanent press setting on the dryer. The swatch lost about 12% in length but gained about 5% in width. The fabric thickened up a bit and is not as transparent. It is Uber soft! Like butter!
If one wanted a stole for a summer's evening or special occasion, one yard hemmed then washed would yield a shawl about 30" from top to bottom and about 68" wide, depending on your hems! Soft and cozy! Next to your skin luscious!
Beautiful and soft

This cashmere knit is everything the website says! It is amazingly soft, the color is gorgeous and it begs to be sewn up. The knit is double-faced so it looks like stockingnette on both sides.
The fabric IS super thin, like a really thin T-shirt. You can definitely see a bra strap through it. I plan on felting half of the swatch I have to see if it thickens it up a bit. If so, it would then need to be washed prior to cutting the pattern.
Otherwise, it is a beautiful fabric and would make a wonderful blouse, skirt, or dress. For winter it would need other layers, but light enough for spring or a cool summer evening. At five feet wide, one can make a large wrap for cool summer nights, or a wrap for a dressy occasion, like a wedding.
