Suede Fabric

Suede Fabric– When animal hides are processed to produce a napped finish, it is called suede fabric. Suede is made from the underside of the skins, or the bottom part of split leathers from larger animals. Because of its fabrication, suede is less tough and durable than other leathers, but is much softer and cozier than regular leather. Because of its extreme softness and flexibility, suede is extremely suited for garment construction. Skirts and shirts are commonly made with suede, and it is also a very popular material for shoes, bags, hats, and upholstery projects. Suede can also be used as a soft and cozy lining for standard leather garments. Because of its textured surface, suede must be scrupulously maintained; it is easy for it to become dirty or stained.
