Mood recommends taking your uncut wool fabric to the drycleaners and asking them to steam it for you, which will safely preshrink it more effectively than you can using home methods. Exceptionally soft and fuzzy in hand with just a touch of sponginess, this double cloth coating features two layers of black brushed twill fabric held together white basting stitches (but don't worry—you can't see the white on the outside of the material). With a structural but still malleable drape and a slight weftwise mechanical give, create sleek pea coats, elegant cape coats, or cocoon coats warm enough to make a caterpillar jealous. Opaque, a lining isn't necessary but may be desired for a polished finish, particularly in tailored applications.
