Do you all the way down the cat-walk, wearing our Premium Stretch Latex in Black. At a popular 0.40mm thickness, this stretchy material is entirely opaque, notably soft, and endlessly smooth. Offering exceptional versatility to garment-making, it is great for designs that demand strength and durability and excellent for billowing details, too. Imagine skin-tight dresses with ruffled latex trim, knife-pleated pencil skirts, fingerless gloves, and killer leggings, using a sharp rotary cutter and self-healing mat to begin. Instead of sewing seams, use rubber cement to glue them together, along with a seam roller to apply pressure. Before gluing, make sure your latex is free of powder and wipe it clean with a solvent such as mineral spirits; spread the glue evenly, taking a moment to allow for some evaporation, then press your latex pieces together, finally using the seam roller to ensure a strong bond. Source inspiration from the uber-famous—think Madonna or Lady Gaga—and your latex looks will be high-fashion! Comes in 8+ colors.
Note: Our Premium Stretch Latex arrives coated with talcum powder in order to keep the layers from sticking together. To remove, soak the latex in a soapy bath, and be aware, afterward, it will cling and stick to itself, but can easily be pulled apart.
It is best to store latex sheeting in plastic bags, avoiding direct sunlight and warm temperatures. For storing quantities above 1-2 yards, it is recommended to roll the latex and wrap it in plastic. When wearing latex garments in the daytime, treat with UV protective shiner. Also, consider coating latex garments with silicone shiner polish or talcum powder when wearing or storing outside of a plastic bag. Never use oil-based polish and routinely wash latex garments after each wear.
