Colors, just like styles, come and go. Some years, pastels are the height of fashion, and other years they are passe. From greenery to fire engine red, 2018 has been packed with vibrant colors and dulcet hues, bringing life to a variety of garments. With a new year comes new colors, so let’s take a look at the color collections that will be dominating 2018.
Bohemian
The boho colors are rich, a mix of earth and jewel tones. These are prevalent in Far-Fetched and Discretion, two of Pantone’s color trends for 2018. Anna Sui’s blouse and Zadig & Voltaire’s tie-dye sweater are the perfect example of the boho colors being utilized in a bohemian style top, while Zac Posen uses them in a more sophisticated look. Calvin Klein’s buttoned blouse is perfect for bringing the warmth of bohemian colors to a more professional setting, and Marine Serre’s layered dress in boho colors pairs beautifully with pastel blue tights.
Go boho with these fabrics:
Classic
The classics, black, navy, beige, and white, are ideal for any setting. Fashion is the sum of its parts, so these neutrals can be dressed up for any occasion. Theory and J Brand show the casual side of the classics, while Tosia and Eckhaus Latta displayed chic dresses in classic colors. And Re Walker’s navy skirt is cute and perfect for a day at the office.
Pastels
Pastels will be big in 2018. Hermes and Chanel suit up with professional pastels, and Sies Marjan creates a stunning slip dress in pastel pink. Giambattista Valli invokes innocence with a tiered high-low dress, where as Tom Ford goes for a more sophisticated and slinky body con silhouette.
Pick out these pastels:
Primary
The primary colors are a major part of 2018 fashion. Calvin Klein and Eckhaus Latta utilize a rich blue, while Tosia creates a stunning off-the-shoulder dress in red. Zac Posen’s dress and blazer show that yellow can be professional, and Versace shows a line of vibrant yellow garments, perfect for standing out anywhere.
I am loving all the pastels! What colors will you be wearing in 2018? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for showing a model who is (presumably) over 40 and has a bit of a belly, instead of a 13-yr old. We older gals really appreciate that!
Everyone deserves representation! I’m glad I’m starting to see a more diverse group of models on the runway and in different collections, and I can’t wait to see what models Fall 2018 will bring!

You’re welcome, I’m glad you found these pieces as inspirational as I do. I love the boho style, too, I’m really excited it’s coming back into style. Those colors are so rich!
