It’s no new thing that ecclesiastical motifs are finding their way to the forefront of fashion, but sometimes it’s a bit difficult to work that into an everyday look. With this redux of The Ash Pants, we took one of the more subtle ecclesiastical jacquards from Mood and created a sleek pair of pants that can be easily worn to a holiday event, a garden party, or even a night out at your favorite club!
Fabrics & materials used:
- 2 yards Baby Pink Ecclesiastical Jacquard
- 9″ Baby Pink Invisible Zipper
- MDF083 – The Ash Pants Sewing Pattern (free download below!)
All seam allowances are 1/2″ unless otherwise stated. See chart below for sizing specifications. Note, this specific pattern is available up to a size 30.
The seams of The Ash Pants caught my eye immediately. I can totally imagine a version of this pattern that jumps into the print mixing trend! For this version though, I kept things simple.
I removed the faux belt across the front of the waistband of the pants, keeping the design for this one a bit more simple since the fabric is a bit louder than the original.
What kind of adjustments have you been making to Mood’s free sewing patterns? I’d love to hear about your projects in the comments below!

I hope to see the top as a pattern also. Great job?
Please provide a pattern for the top, it’s great! 🙂
You could make something similar using their Clover pattern https://www.moodfabrics.com/blog/the-clover-crop-top-free-sewing-pattern/ just make it a v-neck and add a zip to the back.
Is there any instructions on how to do it and put it together? thank.s
Hi Ellie! You can find instructions for our Ash Pants here. 🙂
hey! I absolutely adore the pants, and the fabric. But do you guys have a pattern on the shirt that she is wearing?
Unfortunately, it’s not one of our patterns!
These are absolutely stunning and EXACTLY what I’ve been looking for. Thank you for posting this pattern! You’re keeping me in style
