Our customers love to ooh and ahh over Swatch, but you know what else at Mood NYC earns high marks? Our draped and pinned dressforms. Mood has had many talented in-house designers over the years, and our current designer/silk department team member is JC, a master of draping and pinning.
JC, who is studying fashion design at FIT, follows the same process as most designers do when they’re creating a garment or collection. Scroll down to see his process and more of his designs:
JC makes it look so easy! Don’t you wish you could drape like this? Would you be interested in a draping seminar at Mood NYC? Let us know here…

Yes yes yes! Such beautiful designs. A draping seminar would be amazing. Count me in!
I think a draping class at Mood would be great however, I live in Chicago. What would really be great is if you offered an online draping class. Count me in for that one!!!!
yes! please sign me up i want to attend his seminar.
I’ve always wondered about the draped forms. Does he ever complete the transformation into a complete garment? Does he actually cut the fabric or is he working off of rectangular lengths? They are beautiful!
Caroline, JC does cut the fabric. He’s in fashion school now so I’m pretty sure some of his draped designs do get sewn up and completed eventually.
yes, yes, yes! re: draping seminar, and JC’s creations. i was ogling those yesterday!
Yes I would love to attend a draping seminar at Mood!!!
Beautiful! thanks for the inspiration!
LA store also!
Breathtaking!!!
I don’t see how draping could be taught in a two hour lecture. Perhaps you’re thinking of something more extensive. There are decent free classes online. One is offered by the University of Poitiers. It’s in French but would be understandable to a non-French speaker.
Yes!!:)
I agree, do you have the link to the classes from the uni of Poitiers?
I LOVE to see the draped designs at Mood! I would love to take a class and can recommend an excellent teacher Sharon Butler! http://sharonbutlercouture.com/
You need to have a class in LA!! Be there for sure!
I would love to learn more about draping! Would also be good if the draped forms in store had a label saying what the fabric is.
I would love to come for a draping seminar. I live in upstate NY, and therefore Saturday would work best since I’m not sure I will be able to come during the week.
It would be so exciting to learn about draping. Please have a seminar!
Yes!!! Please offer a draping session.
Oh, yay, I always love to pet and touch all the designs– so gorgeous! Great job, JC!
I want to live closer! What I wouldn’t give to take advantage of Mood classes!
I would LOVE a draping seminar!!!!!!
