This cold-weather season we’ve seen everything from patchwork to bright animal prints. But if you’re ready to turn the lights out on neon, then this next redux is for you. Mood’s Blackthorn Coat free sewing pattern is a great way to showcase the bi-color trend. In my opinion, it’s a fresh take on color blocking; using only two colors with contrasting hues feels like a much more subtle approach. The shawl collar, patch pockets, and rolled cuffs work great for blocking your color combinations. Made here with Mood Fabrics’ boiled wool, you’re sure to be warm and very stylish. Try using a wool boucle as another great fabric option. What color combination are you thinking of for your Blackthorn Coat redux? We’d love to know!

Thanks to This Sewing Pattern, Bit Which dress is it?
We don’t currently have a pattern for this dress, but we have a very similar pattern coming on January 27th!
hello!! how i do download this pattern?
Hi there! There’s a form above – you just need to put in your name and email address and you’ll receive a download link. 🙂
Thank you for your generosity. May I please just confirm if I need to set my printer to ‘actual size’ for A4 or letter size paper (I have both available but prefer to use A4 as that’s easier for me to get).
Hi Jacquie, our downloads are formatted for US Letter size, 8.5″x11″ paper.
Me hubiera gustado que pusieran la explicación de como se monta y cose este abrigo, como lo hacen en otros patrones.
Gracias
Hi Fani! The instructions for this coat are available here. 🙂
Would it be possible to make this coat in a thicker fabric? I’m quite new to making my own clothes and love the style, but would like to make one super warm
Yes, a thicker coating would still work great for this! 🙂
