Looking to add a little pizazz to the dreary January winter? With our impressive collection of luxurious glimmering metallic brocades, you can do just that. Seen on the runway season after season, brocade will always be a year round statement fabric. We’ve got something for everyone, from the minimalist to the maximalist! For this week’s sewing project we chose to showcase this gorgeous Metallic Gold and Beige Firework Flowers Luxury Burnout Brocade by making a Sewciety fan favorite: our Elderberry Dress Free Sewing Pattern. Using this Black Polyester Satin as an underlayer, it gave the brocade a chance to really shine. Want to use brocade but don’t know where to start? Check out How to Wear Brocades With Your Everyday Wardrobe. Personally I’d love to sew an Etro inspired brocade suit with our Ercilla Two Piece Suit Free Sewing Pattern, or use brocade for our Bucket Hat Free Sewing Pattern, worthy of a night out on the town!

This is a fantastic idea, and very nice on!
Where’s your heart?? Some of us are larger than a size 18.
Hi Ethel, this dress was sewn in a size 22, and the pattern goes up to a size 30 🙂
