Circle skirts are one of my favorite garments to create. They sew together so fast, and they look super cute with ease. I love using the circle skirt calculator, as it takes the guesswork out of the circle skirt. I decided to create a 1/4 circle skirt for a professional and stylish garment. I love the look of Mood’s Sanremo Slate and White Two-Toned Linen Woven, which gave my skirt a crisp and cute look!
First, you need to insert your measurements into the calculator. I chose a midi skirt, but I’m on the shorter side so it came out closer to a maxi. I ended up loving the length, though and kept it long.
After cutting out the skirt, I made a waistband and decided to add belt loops, too.
Before sewing the back seam of the skirt, I inserted the invisible zipper. Using french seams, I closed up the back of the skirt. Then, I attached the waistband by sewing it with french seams and then folding it in half and slip stitching it down.
For the belt loops, I simply folded the ends in and stitched them to the waistband, giving them a lovely topstitching.
Then, you can hem the bottom of the skirt, and it’s all done! This skirt is perfect for heading into the office or going out afterward, and pairs with anything from a matching blazer to a pussy bow blouse.
What circle skirt are you making next? Let me know in the comments!
