Sometimes it’s truly hard trying to find the perfect clutch. Whether you’re trying to fit all the essentials for a night out, or just to simply jazz up a casual outfit for the day, having an oober cute clutch can really save the day or night! Well I was tired of searching high and low. Every time I looked, I found a super cute clutch but it was nearly the same price of a full size handbag! Because I refused to sacrifice style and money for the perfect clutch, I decided to make my own. Celine is an amazing designer and when I laid my eyes on this clutch, I knew I had some designing to do. If you can’t find it, MAKE IT!!!
Here’s What You’ll Need:
Now Onto the 10 Easy Steps to Creating Your Perfect Clutch!
Step 1:
Trace the pattern piece on the wrong side of the leather/vinyl. Be sure to trace all the markings. (Here’s the link to download the pattern piece. Celine Structured Clutch Pattern Piece)
Step 2:
On the shorter end of the rectangle, fold the center as marked, and pinch the corners. Repeat to opposite side.
Step 3:
Bring corners together and secure them with a binder clip/pin.
Step 4:
Stitch down the inside fold for 3 ½”.
Step 5:
Fold in the center, bringing the points together. Use this step to make sure folds on both sides are matching up equally.
Step 6:
Flip fabric so that it’s facing wrong side out. This step makes it easier to sew leather/vinyl.
Step 7:
Stitch down the side seam using a stitch about ¼” away from the edge.
Step 8:
Flip bag outside in so that the face of the fabric is showing again.
Step 9:
Lay bag flat on the table to cut 5/8” slits on both corners, for closures.
Step 10:
Insert a large jump ring into the slits of both corners.
Voila! Rock your new Celine inspired clutch!

“oober” isn’t a word; it’s über, and it’s German. The ride share co doesn’t have the umlaut in their name, possibly because they couldn’t copyright a common word from another language and prevent German speakers from declaring anything to be “super”.
Just FYI
