I am sure we have all experienced the malady of finding the perfect handbag that is divine down to the last detail, but when we open it up and peer inside, no pockets. What is with that? A little organization goes a long way when it comes to our everyday lives, so I am sharing with you a ‘How To’ for this purse organizer that can easily be used for a clutch.

-Pattern pieces (Facing, Pocket 1, Pocket 2, Binding)
–Suede Hide
–Silk Lining
-1/2 yard Interfacing
–24″ Zipper or Longer
–L-Square
–Scissors
–Coordinating Thread
To Begin: Cut pieces

Above you will see the pattern pieces and the corresponding cutting of the materials for a total of 12 main pieces, see below on how to create the gathered pocket. I added half inch seam allowance to my entire clutch pattern in hopes that the finished size is 12″ x 10″

Create an interior pocket for your clutch: sew up the middle of the pocket after attaching it to the main interior lining to create two compartments.

Add interfacing to leather for stability, be careful when ironing. Once the linings have been attached to the two pockets, lay the largest pocket on one of the leather facings and stitch in place. Then add the smaller pocket on top of this and stitch in place similarly to how the pieces are laid in the top photo. Ultimately you will have two overlapping exterior pockets.
Now you can paint the town with this simple clutch!
