During Fashion Month, street style really explodes as fashion lovers and show goers flood the streets in their trendiest outfits. As fashion month SS 22 rounded up in September, all of the streetwear for fall made its mark. Taking inspiration from the runways for our fall wardrobes is nice, but this post is all about what people will actually be wearing—Cue the street style.
Power Pants
An easy way to spice up an otherwise boring office look is with statement-making pants—AKA power pants, an extension of the power suit. The fit ranges from flared, wide, straight, and relaxed, so choose your fav and pair with a wacky print. Try velvet, denim, or another fabric for endless outcomes. This trend is perfect for pairing with understated pieces or making a matching set and going all out. Style tip: while sleeveless knit vests are a street style must, the shirtless vest typically seen in suiting sets is another home run. Same style, different trend.
Knit Frenzy
Knits are the perfect ways to feel like you’re cozy at home, even if you’re not. The knit dress is a current street style favorite—specifically in a midi length. Pair with saturated colors (another huge fall trend) to sport two trends at once. Another favorite worth noting is the shirtless vest; that’s largely a part of the preppy trend.
Relaxed Denim
The relaxed jeans made their way in, pushing the skinny jeans out for a moment. Denim with a relaxed or baggy fit offers tons of room for movement. To shoes off your cool kicks, opt for a cropped, rolled, or tapered style that gives the ankle a little breathing room.
Mixed Hemlines
Mix those hemlines with the help of outerwear, it’s an excellent addition to any fall outfit. The streets showcased its versatility. Add any length of skirt or dress to an outerwear piece for a polished look. Skirts in varying lengths are perfect in warmer fabrics like tweed and wool. Don’t forget the power of the mini skirt as it continues to have a major moment.
Catsuits
The catsuit is the leotard of the moment. The full-body suit is a second-skin piece that is dripping in versatility. Wear a tonal suit or one full of print. You can show off your curves or make it your base. This suit is an “IT” item for a reason. Let the pictures seal the deal if you don’t believe me.
Streetwear really showcases the beauty of fashion and helps bring the trends into a much more relatable and attainable form. The current streetwear trends are a mixture from each fashion week which I made sure to include for a little sprinkling of everything. I love adding some outside inspiration for good measure.
