There is nothing more special than a hot pink wool. When I originally ordered this fabric from Mood Fabrics, I had no idea what I was going to make but I just knew I had to have this fabric. It’s a medium-weight 100% wool that’s simply amazing. If you plan to pick some up, hurry it’s almost sold out. It’s one of those perfect wools with a bit of stretch perfect for dresses, skirts, and coats.
This dress was made using the bodice to McCalls M5927 view B and a self-drafted skirt with the following alterations:
-Added 1.5″ to the height of the neck
-Faced the bodice with the same wool fabric
-Added a gathered sleeve with zipper detail
-Added a 58″x19″ pleated skirt to the bodice

I love everything you make because none of it ever looks home sewn. It looks expensive & I hope someday I can achieve that!
Thank you Adriene
with the sleeve zipper, are you installing this in the sleeve seam the way that you would for any other zipper (i.e. back zipper)?
Yes, it’s installed in the seam.
Hi Nikki, I’m actually commenting/ inquiring about a past post here. For some reason it’s not appearing so I will try again here to see if you get this. I absolutely love your wrap dress you made with the Thakoon silk crepe de chine. I believe you used Butterick 5454 which is normally for stretch. Since you used a woven did you have to upsize or adjust? Also did you line it since it may have been sheer? With Spring approaching I want to try it and I have the pattern. Thank you for a response. Everything you create
just looks so beautiful on you!
The color if beautiful, the style is great and the fit perfect! Love double crepe wool! you nailed it!
