Let’s face it: wearing pieces that you’re constantly adjusting or are ill-fitting are not the move, and by the end of the night you’ll end up regretting your fashion choice altogether. If you’re not comfortable in what you’re wearing, you’ll feel self-conscious rather than confident. When shopping or creating garments, opt for comfortable fabrics that feel soft to the touch, have a bit of stretch, and are designed with high-quality construction, which will make waistbands and the overall fit more comfortable.

Find staples that suit your body and continue to do that. Actively seek out pieces that flatter your body and mind. It’s okay to let your style change along with you. All bodies go through changes, so don’t be afraid to get rid of things that no longer flatter you. If your body seems to have lost structure, don’t worry— you can find it in your clothes. As a ‘Baby Boomer’ I appreciate your addressing this concern, one that I’m sure many of us have. As you get older there are changes that are made in all aspects of our lives. The most important one for us is the wisdom we acquire. We are very proud to put it to use, especially when we can help someone else. But there is one thing I have discovered over the years even though I will soon be 68 years old , I still feel as vibrant and alive as I did in my youth. The mirror and gravity keeps me on a ‘reality check’! I refuse though to dress like ‘Aunt Bea’. I have always been interested in fashion with its trends. And as a tailor, hoarding beautiful fabrics has always been my vise. So I was never confined to having to accept what the industry dictated. It is a joy to see the industry embracing us and I look forward to seeing what they will have to offer.
