As I was going through my closet, it dawned on me I very few gray pieces so with no idea what to make, I picked-up this Donna Karan double face wool suiting from moodfabrics.com that’s just beautiful. It’s the perfect fabric year round and would work well with pants, dresses and jackets. With it’s nice amount of stretch, it makes tailoring quite easy. This jumpsuit was made using this vintage Butterick 6971 with the following pattern alterations-Added lapels to the bodice-Reduced the width of the middle band
-Converted the pants to a flare leg as opposed to a wide leg
I lined this jumpsuit with a silk charmeuse I had in my stash.
When it was all said and done, this is definitely an evening out jumper. I do plan to make it again but will probably go a bit looser next time. Still trying to adjust to the changes pregnancy does to a body.
