I have to confess I’m happier than most to begin to see signs of spring. Last year this time I was in the throws of morning sickness so I’m embracing every white, pink and pastel color this spring has to offer, starting with white neoprene. My original vision for this dress was a boxy mini dress, but once I got started, I loved the way the pleating and darts responded to the neoprene. The pattern used for this dress was my loved Vogue V8840 shirt pattern which has gone through many transformations. The pattern alterations are as follows:-Added 2.5″ to the width
-Added 10″ to the length
-Added 4 darted pleats to the front and back of the dress
-Added a 9″ zipper to the back of the neck
-Added a 1″ rolled collar
-Hand stitched the hem
Using pins, create the pleats with the dress inside out to achieve the proper fit. Once the fit is
correct, baste stitch. Repeat this process for the back, which is more challenging unless someone
does it for you.

Love, love, love this dress! I’ve been searching all over for the V8840 pattern. There is so much that you can do with that simple pattern. You must have cute the front and back on the fold. Nice work!
I always love your designs. Another great one.
Elegant and sweet! Not easy to get that combination. Love that pleated area from the neckline with pleats fading from the waist. I need to start playing with neoprene.
I love this dress. So cute and flattering. Great job!
This dress is so cute.
