Lunaria Dress Redux

The moment I saw Hannah rock the Lunaria Dress, I knew I needed one. I absolutely love the shape of it, and the mandarin collar and ruffle sleeves are the perfect little details. Although the dress has been out for a year now, I was waiting for the perfect fabric. I love a good floral print, but I wanted something a little more whimsical. So when I saw Mood's fantastic egg printed cotton shirtings, I knew what I had to do.

Mood Sewing Pattern Size Chart

There are two thoughts I always have before making a garment from a Mood Pattern, and they're always wrong and I always write about it in my posts. This won't look good on me because I'm plus size, and this is too difficult for me to sew. Of course, you can see that I look amazing in this dress, the belt cinches my waist at the perfect spot, and it's the ideal length for wearing as a dress or with jeans as a tunic. In addition to that, this pattern was super simple to sew. I almost always have problems with collars, but this one went in easy. Courtney's instructions were simple and straightforward, and the pattern pieces come together quickly.

I recently made a capsule wardrobe, and I love that this dress fits in with my wardrobe perfectly. Although the print is quite loud, the colors are very much in the same scheme as the rest of my wardrobe. I can easily pair this dress with the Ixia Leggings on a chilly day, and it matches all of my shoes perfectly!

Paired with tights and some heeled booties, I'm ready for brunch in the city. Throw on some jeans and leather boots, I'm off to the county fair, eating funnel cake and riding the scrambler.
