The holidays are upon us and Mood Fabrics has you covered! This Redux of our Molina Tunic free sewing pattern is perfect for any holiday party or event you plan to attend. With a little inspiration from the roaring 20’s, you’ll be the center of attention in this little number. It was carefully made with hand-sewn chains and feathers that line the bottom edge for swinging the night away! Have any great holiday parties lined up? Let’s us know what you plan to wear!
All seam allowances are 1/2″ unless otherwise stated. See chart below for sizing specifications. Note, this specific pattern is available up to a size 30.
For this redux version of the Molin tunic, I scooped out the neck line for an easy pattern hack!
Sewing your pattern is pretty straight forward. Once you’ve sewn your front and back pieces together, you can start maping the location for your trim. Using a clear quilting ruler and dressmaker chalk or pens would be best.
Now for the fun part! Carefully handstitch each row of chain trim to the front of your tunic. Make sure to stich at least twice through each chain loop to ensure the trim is nice and secure.
Finish by machine stiching two rows of the ostrich feather trim to the hemline. This trim is has a nice satin ribbon holding the feathers together adding a pretty finish to your garment.
And that’s it! You’re done! I hope you have fun with this redux, and make sure to have just as much fun wearing it!!
