Start accessorizing for the summer! This super quick and incredibly easy tutorial will show you how to make a case for your phone that’s cute enough to eat.
Things you’ll need:
- 1/4 yard Double-Faced Neoprene/Scuba Fabric (I used the Tile Blueย and the Raspberry Rose)
- 1/2 yard Taupe Double-Faced French Satin Ribbon
- Ruler/Yard Stick
- Marking Tool
To start, cut two rectangles of neoprene. I cut mine to the size of my phone, plus 1/2″ on each side. Next, you’ll want to draw two ovals onto your neoprene, like you see on most popsicles. About 1.5″ wide looks the best.
Once you stitch over your oval shapes, there are two different ways to continue. If you have a bulkier phone, you can add a 1″ strip of neoprene between your front and back panels, like you see above. The other option, to keep it thin and sleek (like below), is to simply sew the front and back panels together.
No matter which way you decide to make yours, there’s only one more step! Using about 6″ of ribbon, create a small loop to attach to the end of your case. This can be used to hold, or snap to a set of keys, and it looks like a popsicle stick!
And in just a few minute, you have an adorable new phone case. What color are you going to make yours? Tell us below!

This is a cute and simple idea. I can see it being a staple of Brownie and Girl Scout troops. It is a splendid gift idea. Could be a nice little fundraiser. The stitching of the popsicle shapes is a nice design touch.
