When I spotted this beautiful Dior dress worn by Emma Watson to the Golden Globes, I completely fell in love. It was simple and beautiful at the same time, and absolutely maternity appropriate. In an attempt to recreate my version, I used this bamboo jersey from Moodfabrics.com along with a black jersey I had in my stash for the belt. If looking for jersey, Moodfabrics.com is the perfect place to go for every color and weight imaginable. The pattern I used for this tunic was Butterick B5454 with the following alterations:-Faced the entire bodice and left off the sleeves-Removed 3″ from the bottom wrap portion of the bodice
-Removed 3″ from both sides of the tunic skirt back
-Added a 38″ slit to the tunic front
-Added a pocket
-Added 6 pleats to each side of the tunic skirt back
-Added 8 pleats to the tunic skirt front
-Added 2 65×5″ belts to create the wrap
Now THAT’S Kickin’!!! I love how it is open both in the front and back. It also reminds me of some Rick Owens with the long openings. Love LOve LOVE the surprise back. 🙂
That looks very comfy and very cute. The glow of motherhood looks good on you.
This is a beautiful outfit. The detail is lovely , and the baby bump fits you very well.
So stylish! The baby bump is too cute!
Love the look but wished you would have closed the lower back of the dress to keep the integrity of a maxi wrap. The V-back would have made it look more elegant. Like your design ideas.
This is my first time clicking around the Mood website & I’m so glad I stumbled across your maxi tunic! I love a surprise back of any garment.
It’s perfect for the ‘modern-mom’ as you are! U are rockn those shoes!
