Mood Style: My love of lace

My obsession with lace continues........ Lace is one of those delicate textiles you can't help but prance in when you walk.  It provides the perfect amount of coverage that doesn't leave you looking too naked. This silk lace I found on moodfabrics.com is simply amazing!  and works well with this Italian black suiting.
It's very delicate and is way more amazing in person.
This dress was made with the bodice of McCalls M5927 with the following alterations: -Added 2" to the front and back of the neck -Cut the front and back bodice piece 6.5" from the top to create an additional pattern piece and seam line. -Added a 22" zipper The skirt of the dress was made by:
-Cutting one piece of fabric 40" wide x 18" long and cut in half lengthwise. (back piece) -Sew the back pieces together using a 5/8" seam allowance basting 7 1/2" from the top of the skirt. -Attach the remaining bodice zipper to the skirt back.-Cut one piece of fabric 21 wide x18" long (front piece) -Sew the front and back pieces together at the sides
-Line the side and back seams of the skirt up with the bodice seams, using the fabric between the seams to create the inverted pleats that line up with the bodice darts in the front and back.
-Sew the bodice to the skirt
-Added 5" of lace to the hem of the skirt -Serged the sleeve openings to seal
