When it comes to prints, you know by now I don’t do a whole lot, but when I do please know that it’s a print I absolutely LOVE. I found this fabric online here at moodfabrics.com and originally envisioned a fitted dress due to it’s stretch and what I thought would be a heavy weight fabric. When I received the fabric it was much lighter than a normal jacquard and I knew it would make a great spring/summer dress.
This off the shoulder trend which started for me last year is more popular than ever and highlights such a beautiful part of every woman’s body is one that will hopefully stay around for a while.
The pattern used for this dress was a self drafted pattern seen last year here and here and available for free download.
The alterations made for this pattern were:
-Removed the wrap belt option
-Added 22″ to the length
-Added a 5″ box pleat to the middle of the front and back of the pattern
-Remove 6″ from the bottom of the sleeve
– (for the bottom of the sleeve) Cut two pieces of fabric 56″ long x 7″ wide, stitch the short ends together on each piece and attach to the bottom of the sleeve using pleating.
