By now it’s quite evident I’m in love with a great fitting pant. One of the top questions when it comes to pants is always “How do I get a perfect fit?” The answer to this question always starts with a great fabric. This medium weight wool twill from moodfabrics.com is simply perfect! It has the just the right amount of stretch and structure and were not going to even talk about how incredible the color is. This is hands down one of the easiest fabrics to cut, sew and iron. The pattern used for these pants is McCalls M6404 view A with the following pattern alterations:-Removed the knee riding sections
-Removed 3″ from the length of the pattern
-Added 3″ to the length of the waist
-Added a 9″ side zipper
-Added a 3″ ankle slit
-Added double welt pockets to the back
The top was made with a fabric I had in my stash using this vintage Vogue pattern 1424 view E with the following pattern alterations:
-Used the neck option to view C
-Removed the loop buttons and added regular buttons and button holes
-Removed the wrist cuffs and added elastic

Wow, this is hands down the most envy-worthy outfit I’ve seen this month! I love the shoes. I’m curious – since these are unlined, do you have any problems with the wool being scratchy? I could imagine wearing a pants slip or something with them, but if the wool is soft enough to be worn on its own, then that’s awesome!
Yeowzers! You look scorching hot in that ensemble! Vogue magazine has a full page reserved for you! Great job!
Your pattern placement on the blouse is great. I like the outfit. Nice coloring.
