Here are a few tip and tricks for sewing the Pine dress- feather redux!
Tip: Use a non-stick needle for best results. The feather trim is bonded with glue and may cause a sticky build-up on your needle, causing the threads to break.
Once the dress is completely sewn using the original instructions, pin your feather trim to the skirt spacing each row about 2″ apart and sew all the way around.
After you’ve sew on the feathers, hand stitch your trim around the waist.
Here’s a cool trick: Use the same trim and cut smaller pieces to make individual appliques for the bodice. Pluck feathers from the ribbon and use them as an added fringe detail. The end result is stunning!
