What goes around, comes round again. There is a recurring trend that’s back this fall and it’s leggings. This isn’t the same old, plain black, leggings-as-pants trend though. Instead, we’re seeing vibrant colors and mesmerizing prints. If your leggings aren’t standing out in your wardrobe this season, you may want to think about upping your game. Let’s take a look at a few ways we’re seeing leggings incorporated into outfits this year!

Colorful Leggings
This year, we’re seeing psychedelic prints, saturated colors, and bold stripes. Pair yours with an oversized sweater, shirt dress, or an equally vibrant puffer coat!

Crossover Waistband
These leggings are great for the gym. Pair them with your next workout look or opt for a cute, cropped hoodie. Check out this tutorial on how to turn a regular waistband into a crossover!

Split Hem Leggings
These are a great alternative to your stuffy work pants, plus they show off the perfect set of heels with ease!

Rib Knit Leggings
Rib knits are soft and bring some great texture to an ensemble, which makes them perfect for matching sets! Try pairing a simple pair of rib knit leggings with the Hickory Ensemble top or the Willow Cardigan.

Thanks, Mood. Very grateful for your service

hI! Potentially silly question, but for these do you sew the waistband on before sewing the front pieces to the back pieces, or sew all of the panels together and do the waistband last? Thanks!
Hi, Alex! I recommend the waistband last. 🙂
Thanks Mood. I’ll be adding this to my wardrobe soon.
I’d like to make the split hem leggings but I’m absolutely new. Are there instructions if I download the pattern?
Hi Anne, putting a slit on the side would be the easiest – just mark the sides and secure the seam at the marked point. Fold under, then hem the slit. Now, putting a slit in the fabric without a seam is more advanced. You’d need to make a slit stay to go on the inside of the fabric, which acts as a seam finisher and stabilizer so the fabric doesn’t tear. Good luck! 🙂
Have you got a pattern for mens leggings or can i adapt this some way?
Hi Ange, You can adapt the Ixia leggings! We suggest adjusting the inseam/crotch area as well as straightening the hips. A great fabric to use is this compression fabric We also recommend making a toile/muslin first to insure proper fit
