Fall is definitely my favorite season. I love making coats, jackets and layering pieces. However, the weather has been a little unpredictable. With warmer than usual temperatures, I haven’t really felt the inspiration for Fall fashion as I normally do.
With that being said, I decided to share this absolutely wonderful asymmetrical moto jacket with you guys! It’s lightweight, great for this crazy Summer/Fall weather and the silhouette is stunning! This pattern is from Burda Style’s 2013 Big Picture Collection.
There are so many ways you can make this jacket. I chose to make it in a contrasting light grey and black combination. This look has just the right amount of edge to it. I also chose a lighter weight wool suiting and a premium stretch lamb leather hide for the sleeves. As for the lining, I went with a fluid China silk in a rich wine color. Mood Fabrics has great vegan leather options as well. Fabric and color combinations are endless!
Here are all the details on where to find everything I used along with some vegan leather options:
- Pattern: Burda Style #117 Asymmetrical Moto Jacket 11/2013 (Burda Style also has video instructions available to download for this pattern)
- Black and White Tweed Wool Suiting
- Black Stretch Leather
- Vegan options: #319266, #313148
- Wine China Silk/Habotai
- Black Separating Zipper
I’m definitely going to make another one this season and I’ll post pictures as soon as I do! Enjoy!
Very cute jacket!
