Alternative Recommended Fabrics:

Note: When pressing, use a press cloth so the fibers won’t melt and stick to your iron.
Note: For your lining, you will be sewing it the same way as your main pieces.
Tip: Ese a sharp microtex needle and a stitch length of 3 to avoid pulls in your fabric.
1. Print and tape patterns.
2. Cut out interfacing and interface pieces.
3. Cut cuffs out of the faux fur, making sure the fur is going in the right direction. Look at our tips and tricks for cutting with fur.
4. Trace, pin, and sew your darts.
5. Cut four 2’’ elastic strips and set them aside for later.
6. Pin and sew center back seam. Do the same with your lining back pieces.

7. Place your front pieces to the back at the shoulder seam and pin. Sew at shoulder and side seams.

8. Sew your facing to the side front lining panel.

9. Pin shoulders and sides together and sew.

10. Fold cuffs in half and sew. Do the same for the lining of the cuff. Tip: Make sure the fur is in the right direction to complete the look.

11. Fold the lining facing in half and stitch before sewing a rolled hem.

12. Flip the cuff upside down. Pin the cuff lining to the cuff, and then pin the lining facing over it. Tip: You may want to baste it first to see if everything is laying correctly.

13. Next, flip the lining to the inside and hand sew the top of the cuff twice. Sew the fur side, then fold the lining and sew shut.

14. Next, sew your buttons on either side of the cuff facing. One button is on the side seam and the other is right across from the side seam. I placed the button ½” away from the fur edge. Once the buttons are sewn, hand tack the facing to the lining at the sides. Note: You can add more buttons if you want to, you will just need to add more loops to your sleeve in a later step.

15. With right sides together, pin and sew the collar. Once sewn, trim corners and press. Note: Use a pressing cloth.

16. Pin and sew your sleeves.

17. Pin sleeve to the main garment matching notches. Do the same thing to your lining.

18. Pin collar to top of jacket matching notches at shoulder seams. Make sure the undercollar is the one that is face down and not the top collar.

19. With right sides together pin lining, matching seams. Pin all around and sew. Leave a small opening in the lining to flip the right side out.

20. Mark 1’’ for the hem of the sleeve, before stitching down, place the elastic strips and stitch down. Note: You are not stitching through to the outside of the fabric, just the inside.

21. Once sewn, fold the hem 1’’ and hand stitch down. Then do the same hem to your lining, but place it slightly under the hem you just sewed.
22. On the inside where you left the hole, hand stitch it shut.
23. Press your garment, using a pressing cloth.
24. Make your cover buttons and sew them according to the markings on the pattern or place them where you’d like.

Love the style of this! Can you put pockets in it?
Hi Linda! Yes, I think adding seam pockets to the jacket would be great!
