All seam allowances are 1/2″ unless otherwise stated. See chart below for sizing specifications. Note, this specific pattern is available up to a size 30.

Step 1
As always, the first thing we need to do is sew in the darts at our front bodice piece.

Step 2
Next, using a French seam, attach the front bodice to the back bodice at the shoulders and side seams.
Step 3
Before sewing the sleeves, use a basting stitch to slightly gather some ease at the cap.
Then, fold and sew the sleeve seam.
Pin sleeve to the bodice and set in using a French seam.
Step 4
Now you can move on to your covered buttons.
Follow the directions on the packaging for best results!

Step 5
Prepare your neck facing by stitching the front to the back facing pieces at the shoulder seams. Press seams.
Step 6
Pin the facing to the neck opening with the right sides of the fabric together.
Step 7
Sew around the neck attaching your facing in place. Place button loops in between the facing layers as you stitch the back of the neck closed.
Step 8
Sew covered buttons to the opposite side.
Step 9
Now you can attach your belt to the bottom edge of your blouse.
Pin and sew the extended belt tie to the front of your belt at the side seams.
Fold up the belt and edge stitch along the inside edge to close.

I love this top
When you do the french seaming, do you do it so it totals to a 1/2 inch seam?
Thanks!
Yes, I typically do a 1/4″ and a 1/4″ seam, but if it’s a thicker fabric, you may want to add a bit extra!
Thank you for your pattern which is so cute.
I may just be overlooking this, but is the seam allowance included in this pattern or should it be added?
A 1/2″ seam allowance is already included. 🙂
