How To Sew The Crimson Turtleneck Free Sewing Pattern:
Use a 1/2″ seam allowance for all seams unless otherwise specified.
Tips for sewing with Ponte knit – *50% all-way stretch. (62% Rayon, 32% Nylon, 6% Spandex)
- Use a ballpoint needle or a stretch needle in the size range of 75/11 to 90/14.
- Use a stretch stitch or a zigzag stitch to help maintain the elasticity of the fabric.
- For stitch length, a medium length of about 2.5 to 3.5mm gives enough stretch in the seams without causing puckering.
- Using an overlock stitch will trim the edges and encase them, preventing fraying while allowing the fabric to retain its stretch.
- If you don’t have a serger, you can use a zigzag stitch along the raw edges.
Step one – Join front and back together by sewing at the shoulder seams.
Step two – Sew front and back together at the side seams.
Step three – Close the sleeves by sewing the inseam.
Step four – Sew the hem at the bottom of the sleeves.
Step five – Sew a basting stitch around the top of the sleeve cap, then slightly gather to ease the sleeve into the armscye.
Step six – Set in the sleeve to the armhole and sew all around.
Step seven – Sew the seam of the collar to close the turtleneck, then fold in half.
Step eight – Position the seam at center back or at one of the side seams, then sew the collar around the neckline.
Step nine – Finish the garment by sewing the hem around the bottom edge.
How To Sew The Voltage Midi Skirt Free Sewing Pattern:
Use a 1/2″ seam allowance for all seams unless otherwise specified.
Tips for sewing with imitation latex – *Weft Stretch. (67% Polyester, 33% Polyurethane)
-
- Imitation latex is often chosen over regular latex because it is hypoallergenic, more affordable, durable, available in various finishes, and easier to maintain.
- Use clips instead of pins, as pins can leave permanent holes and create marks in the material.
- Consider using a zigzag stitch or a stretch stitch with a length of about 3.0 to 4.0mm to help prevent the material from tearing while allowing for some flexibility.
- Opt for a Teflon presser foot or a walking foot to help prevent the material from sticking and slipping.
- Use a Teflon needle or walking foot needle in a size range of 90/14 or 100/16. These needles have a coating that helps reduce friction, allowing them to glide over the material.
Step one – Sew the Front Side panels to the Front Center panel.
Step two – Sew the Back Side panels to the Back Center panels.
Step three – Sew front and back together at the side seams, then finish the edges of the side slit.
Step four – Add interfacing to the waistband and sew to the skirt waistline.
Step five – Add rows of topstitching on the waistband to enhance its structure and stability.
Step six – Sew the invisible zipper up to the notch at center back, then sew the rest of the seam below.
Step seven – Finish the garment by sewing the hem all around the bottom edge.

Since there is a seam up the back could I just put in a back slit and close up the side slit to make this office friendly? How would I do that? I love the shinny red pleather. So chic!
Yes, you can simply just swap places by sewing the zipper at the side seam and creating the slit at center back.
