This is a gorgeous coat! It’s a must-have!
I want to make it out of a sheer!
Why are there 2 sets of lines for size 22 on the pattern? Is it safe to use either one or does the entire size range from 22 to 32 need to be redrafted? Love this jacket and can’t wait to make it!
Thank you for bringing this to our attention! We’ve carefully reviewed the pattern and have updated the downloadable PDF this morning. You can now proceed with confidence, as both sets of lines for size 22 have been rectified. You’re all set to enjoy creating your Drosera Duster Jacket—happy sewing!
That’s perfect! Thank you so much.
Why no lining pattern? Bummer
We acknowledge your concern regarding the absence of a lining in this pattern. While some fabrics may benefit from the inclusion of a lining, it’s important to note that the Indigo Stretch Cotton Denim utilized for the Drosera Duster is heavyweight and doesn’t necessitate a lining. We hope you’re enjoying browsing through our collection of 350+ free sewing patterns! If you have any further inquiries, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Happy Sewing!
This is a beautiful coat and I would love to make it but I’m not getting the full pattern pieces on each page when I download.

How do I get the instructions for sewing the coat?
Hello, The sewing instructions can be found below this post.
On the directions; 4 – Pin the front and back together, then sew the shoulder seams, underarm seams, and the side seams. (and pockets**** 🙂
Love this pattern so far, I am doing size 4 and it is a very comfortable fit. All the seams walked perfectly. Thank you!!!
Thanks for this terrific pattern. A couple of things i have found that might help others to print the pattern. Firstly, when I downloaded the pattern, I saved it as a PDF file on my computer & then opened that file as a PDF document. Then in the print dialogue box, I checked the :actual size” button rather than the default “fit to page” button. I printed the page that has the test box & checked that it was 2 inches by my ruler. Then I printed all pages. I have found that putting the pages together over a light box when aligning the dots & lines makes for very accurate piecing. Hope this helps in some way. I can hardly wait to get started!
I, too, would love to create this coat with a lining, possibly with a contrast facing & upper collar. My guess is that if I duplicate all the main pattern pieces in lining, I should be able to splice the facings into the lining fronts somehow? I suspect once I cut it all out, the natural solution will present itself. I’m looking forward to making this coat! Considering a faux leather with some type of interesting contrast on the collar!
