Have you heard the news? Mock necks and turtle necks are back! They are so in right now, I have turtle neck envy. So of course I had to try my hand at The Felicia Sweater! Our lead blogger Courtney looks so fantastic in this piece, you can’t help but be jealous.
(If you’re wondering about those sweet jeans she’s rocking, too, check out The Forsythia Jeans pattern on Mood Sewciety!)

This sweater is sweet
I wanted something a little cozier, since most of my pieces are pretty loud statement pieces, so I chose this amazing Olive Waffle Sweater Knit. All of the waffle knits are so soft, any of them would work well. Courtney used a rib knit, and also recommended bamboo knits, for a soft and easy to sew sweater.

Cute and cozy, what else could a gal ask for? A puppy.
The Felicia Sweater was incredibly simple to put together! Mood’s patterns are so accessible, even as a new sewist, I feel confident that I can do anything with Mood by my side. And, as a plus size gal, I have to say, these patterns size up beautifully and are honestly very flattering. I made a slight alteration to mine, simply putting in a back seam to make the sweater a little tighter, but if you like yours a little looser and cozier, then this pattern is already perfect.

It’s so cold I’ve been dreaming of fall weather
I love how my new turtleneck looks, and I can’t wait to keep warm in it all winter! Of course, I’ve been flipping through all the Pre-Fall 2018 collections, so I styled my sweater with a dusty rose pinafore dress for that “it’s the end of September and it’s sort of cold out but I still gotta be looking cute on campus” look.

Check me out! Seriously. I look amazing
What fabric will you be making yours out of? Let me know in the comments!

I love waffle knits

I like your color choices and the punk vibe you exude. You go girl!!!! You are a great example of a rockin’ chick!
Thank you! I always strive for that soft punk style!
Do you have a pattern for the pinafore dress? Looks amazing together!! 🙂
I’m looking at the UV protective fabrics for use in the top part of my lawn mowing uniform (jeans, work boots, gloves, etc.) as I’m tired of wearing so much sunblock. Do you think that this pattern will work well for this application?
Hi Judith! Yes, UV protective fabrics would work great with this pattern. Note though, that this sweater is a bit on the shorter side, so you just may need to lengthen it if you want something that won’t ride up with you’re working. It’s up to your personal fit preferences though!
