Having trouble deciding on what color to wear? Mood Fabrics’ Foxglove Bodysuit pattern provides the perfect opportunity for you to try out the two-toned or half and half look! This bi-colored trend has been seen everywhere this past season from coats to shirts, and even hair that seems to have been split right down the middle! With 3/4 sleeves and a plunging neckline, the Foxglove Bodysuit would be great with jeans or even a full skirt for a more formal look. For my bodysuit, I used a printed stretch crepe from Mood’s newest exclusive line, The Serengeti Collection. This whimsical print features the outline of foliage, faces and hands that intertwine to create an eye-catching effect. Using the same print with different ground colors, is a fresh approach to the traditional way of color blocking. How do you plan on rocking your Foxglove Bodysuit? Try using solids in an array of color combinations in knit jersey or charmeuse!

All seam allowances are 1/2″ unless otherwise stated. See chart below for sizing specifications. Note, this specific pattern is available up to a size 30.
Here’s how to sew: If you are using contrasting colors, make sure to follow the directions on the pattern for cutting your pieces either face down, or face up!
- Once you have your pattern pieces all cut out, start pining your backs together with the right sides facing. Stitch and press your center back seam.
- Next you are going to attach your fronts to the back. Pin your right side to the right side seam and stitch. Do the same for the left side. Then pin at each shoulder seam and sew. Press all seams.
- Now, overlap the front pieces and pin together where the marking is indicated on your pattern. Use a basting stitch and sew a piece of elastic cut to the size of your waist along the entire bottom edge. This will help gather the bottom edge into the waist of your bodysuit panty.
- Use a basting stitch to slightly gather the caps of each sleeve. Pin and set in sleeves.
- Attach your panty front and back pieces together at the side seams and stitch.
- Once you’ve gathered your bodice waist, pin it to your bottom panty and stitch it in place. Lastly, attach your snap closure to the front and back of your panty to close.

Beautiful
This is lovely. Can it be made in a poplin fabric?
Hi Diane! You could theoretically make the top out of a poplin, but we recommend a fabric with some stretch and a more flowy drape. 🙂
or cut the poplin on bias ,maybe?
Hi, this looks great. Where does the spandex come in?
Hi Haidee, the spandex is used for the panty so you can get it over your hips!
Hi! I’m confused about the raw edge I still have on the draped neckline and sleeve cuffs. What am I missing !? Thanks so much
Hello, you can finish the raw edges by sewing a double-folded hem, simply by folding the edge 1/4″ twice.
