Please note, this pattern now includes a 1/2" seam allowance.
Start by sewing the side panels of your vest to the each of the front panels along the curved seam.
Push your seam allowance toward the side panel and edge-stitch it into place, like below.
The left side of your vest is in two pieces to make room for the zipper. Sew them, faces together, with the zipper sandwiched in between and stopping about 1/2" from the bottom of your fabric.
Add the shoulder panels to the top of each front panel and stitch down the seam allowances.
Add the yoke to the back panel of your vest and attach the front and back at the shoulders.
Connect the sides with a strip of rib knit trim. Here is where you can fit your vest a little better if need be. Sew the front sides together and stitch the seam allowances, and then sew the back sides and take in the seam if you'd like a slimmer fit.
Next, take one of your collar pieces and sew the bottom edge to the neckline of your vest, faces together. Take the second piece and place place it against the first with their right sides together. Stitch along the top edge, fold it right side out and fold all raw edges inward. Top-stitch around the sides and bottom edge of the collar, securing the raw edges inside.
Add the other half of the zipper to the opposite front panel and finish up your vest with a rolled hem along the bottom and armholes!
Which of Mood's new quilted coatings will you be using for yours? I'd love to hear how you'll be trying out this new pattern!
