Alternative Recommended Fabrics:
All seam allowances are 1/2″ unless otherwise stated. See chart below for sizing specifications. Note, this specific pattern is available up to a size 30.
Note: The dress is fully lined, so work on your lining simultaneously
First, attach the center front panel to both side front panels.
Next, attach the side fronts to the side backs. Then pin and sew the center back panels to your side back panels.
Make sure to press open all your seams nice and flat. Now, you can pin and sew the back seams together. Only sew from the bottom of your zipper notch down. Do the same on your lining and press.
Now, you can work on your sleeves. First, stitch your sleeve together down the sleeve seam and press. Set aside.
With the right sides of the fabric together, pin the flounce and the flounce facing together and sew. Stay stitch the inside edge of the seam allowance on the flounce facing before turning it right side out.
Turn the flounce right side out and press. Insert your lining before attaching the flounce to the sleeve opening.
At this point, you should have your lining put together pretty much the same way. Make sure all of your lining seams are pressed nicely and flat. With the right sides of your fabric together, pin your lining to your dress along the neckline. Stitch across the length of the neckline.
Now, insert your invisible zipper, sandwiching it between the lining and the main fabric. Once your zipper is installed, stay stitch your lining seam allowance across the neckline. Turn the dress right side out and press.
Now, with the right sides of the fabric together, pin the outer flounce to the sleeve, leaving the facing free. Stitch, then turn and press. On the inside, slip stitches the flounce facing closed.
Lastly, hem the bottom of your dress and add your hook and closure to the back neck and you’re done!

This dress was absolutely perfect for my confirmation ceremony. Very modest and I was able to finish it in only a couple days. Loved it!
I made this for a wedding I’m going to– it was perfect! The instructions are clear, and I’m definitely saving the pattern to make in different fabrics. I made a slight alteration on the sleeves by following a double circle skirt formula to add a little extra “swoosh” to the flounce, and the pattern is very simple to alter and make your own. Thanks so much, Shavonne!!
