All seam allowances are 1/2″ unless otherwise stated.

The first step to constructing these pants starts with the pockets. The back facing of the pocket will be seen while the pants are being worn, but the front isn't visible, so you can use a lining fabric to avoid bulk. With the fabrics' right sides together, attach the pocket facing to the front panel of your pants, following the orange line below.

Attach the second part of your pocket along the bottom curve, like below. I recommend pressing the curve of the pocket opening and using French seams if you don't have a serger, especially if sewing with one of these Mikado prints.

Connect your front pant panels along the front rise, starting just below the fly. Fold back the fly facings and press.

Finish the raw edges of the fly facings with a serger, zig-zag stitch, or a tiny rolled hem. Place the zipper flat beneath the right fly facing, top-stitch into place.

Place the opposite fly facing over the zipper and top-stitch directly outside the teeth and curve it around the zipper stop. Bring the zipper pull down to the bottom and trim your zipper to line up with top of your fabric.

Take two of your waistband pieces and attach them at the center back. Do the same with the facings and then stitch the two strips together along the top curve of the waistband. Fold right side out and press.

Sewing along the bottom of one of the waistband layers, stitch the band to the top of your pants, placing the seam at the center back.

Fold the raw edges of the waistband inward and slip-stitch around the sides and bottom. Add two skirt hook & eye closures and give the bottom of your pants a simple rolled hem. Fold the hem up about 1.25" twice and you're ready to style!
