Looking to make a lasting impression with a stunning new look? The reimagined Meadow jumpsuit enters a new dimension of style that will have you submerged in serenity. Between the choice of luxurious fabric, innovative design, and meticulous detailing, this garment truly elevates the style and grace of today’s fashionista. The Mikado fabric, which gets its name from the Japanese word for emperor, is commonly used for vibrant wedding dresses and other grandiose fashion pieces. This glammed up Meadow Jumpsuit is not only visually pleasing but is remarkable in comfort also. Its amazing fabric gives off a luminous appearance while offering a voluminous handle, giving you a lovely feel full in richness. It integrates a classic aesthetic with a contemporary twist, offering a fresh perspective on high-end fashion. So, step into the spotlight at your next special event with unique style and unquestionable taste!
The mesmerizing details from this unique look are perfect for those who lead the trends and want to make a fancy impression. The design remains very professional and reminiscent of a tailored suit, featuring a lapel collared top with an overlay that wraps on one side over the fitted trouser pants. Adding an element of boldness, the original sleeves were substituted for full-circle sleeves, which pertain to the clover crop top. The waistline on this redux is highlighted by a full belt rather than a side tie that features the dazzling detail of a rhinestone belt buckle, not only elevating the outfit’s glamour, but also creating a beautifully defined waist. The strategically placed darts offer a fitted look that enhances and compliments your figure, ensuring you look fabulous from every angle. Whether you’re attending a wedding, gala, or a sophisticated dinner, the renewed Meadow Jumpsuit fits as a fine example of luxury wear that takes you to the pinnacle of fashion!

Making the Meadow Jumpsuit Redux-
*NOTE: This is an advanced sewing project and it is recommended that you have experience in sewing. Please refer to the sewing instructions on the original blog post on how to make the jumpsuit.
Sleeve Swap:
The biggest change on the redux is the exchange for large, dramatic sleeves. This new jumpsuit gracefully wears the sleeves from the Clover Crop Top. Download the Clover pattern and print out the sleeve pattern only, pages 1-16, 18-22. When you print out the Meadow Jumpsuit pattern, avoid printing out the patterns for the sleeve and sleeve flounce, which are pages 4-7, 14-17.

Extending the Overlay Pattern:
For this revamped look, I decided to widen the overlay pattern at the bottom of the pant. If you would like to add more flair to this look, use the pattern of the overlay pant facing and trace out the shape onto pattern paper.

First, use a ruler and add 2″ to the width at the bottom of your new pattern. Second, use a french ruler to smoothly blend the extension point from the bottom of the pattern up towards the top. Once this is completed, cut 1 piece of fabric using the new facing pattern you drafted. Then you will tape this extended pattern piece over the big overlay pattern labeled “left bodice & pant overlay”. Lastly, cut 1 piece of fabric using your new extended overlay pattern.

Adding a Side Zipper:
If you use a fabric with no stretch, like this Mikado for example, you will need to install a side zipper in order to fit into the jumpsuit. Choose either side of the jumpsuit and measure 18″ down the side seam to install the zipper. Leave 1/2″ seam allowance at the top of the armscye to sew the sleeve in after the zipper is in place.

Making a Full Belt:
Using the pieces of 2 fabric you cut from the side tie pattern, sew both pieces together on one end to create 1 long belt. Fold the belt over on the fold line and sew along the edge. Then, use a loop turner to flip the belt outwards. Fold the ends in and sew them closed by topstitching. Use the belt buckle to adjust the belt in place.

Style is universal. We all deserve to look good, feel good, and dress like a star! A single-piece suit with a symphony of elements, the Meadow Jumpsuit redux is the perfect outfit for those who appreciate the exciting things in life. Now it’s time to make it yours and stand out as an inspiring fashion-figure!

I love this. Thank you. It’s absolutely beautiful. Blessings
I’m on a mission to make clothing items from all sort of time periods. Right now I’m immersed in the 18 century and a 1917 outfit. This will be perfect for a 1970s inspired outfit.
