About Our Hosts
Camille is one of the co-hosts and the editor of the Mood Sewciety Podcast. She earned her BFA in Costume Technology and sewed operatic and theatrical costumes in a past life. When she’s not podcasting, you can usually find her writing product descriptions while listening to history lectures, studying film theory, and playing Nintendo games.
Ashley is one of the co-hosts of the Mood Sewciety Podcast. She received her BFA in Costume Design and has designed and worked on her fair share of theater productions, operas, and film sets. Although she spends a lot of her time creating content and monitoring Mood Fabric’s social media pages, she is also an avid cosplayer and has been for 10 years.
Fantasy and Mythology
First, Ash and Camille discuss the various escapist trends carried over from 2020. Spanning cottagecore to dark academia and everything in between, these whimsical trends have been a Mood favorite this year!
Next, they look back to see what decades were influencing fashion this year and geek out about a certain British boy band. Plus, they sneak in a discussion on the history of Western wear!
Socially Conscious Fashion
Transitioning into 2022, Ash and Camille examine how fashion can continue to positively impact the world, both this year and going forward. Particular topics include sustainability and supporting ethical businesses.
Finally, they take a stab at what might just be 2022’s biggest trend. From Pantone’s video-game inspired Color of the Year to Iris van Herpen’s 3D-printed couture, it’s safe to say that fashion is more and more inspired by our digital age.
