The Nasrin Pants - Free Sewing Pattern + Onella Blouse Pattern Hack

Posted on September 20, 2019 by Shavonne Cruz

Now is your time to shine! This fall, metallics are hotter than ever and with our new Nasrin Pants sewing pattern, we're making sure you are right on trend! Mood Fabrics' metallic gold stretch faux leather feels and looks like the real thing. It has a soft backing and feels great against the skin, making a lining completely optional. Try making your pants in a faux suede or silk twill as another fabric option. Pair your metallics with complimenting neutral colors to help balance your look. With a quick redux to the Onella Blouse pattern, I had the perfect top to complete my outfit. Check out the pattern hack details below and let us know how you plan to wear your Nasrin Pants!

Here's how to sew:

The first step would be to sew in your pleat on the front of your pants, following the guide on your pattern.

Next, with right sides together, attach your one-piece pocket to the front of the pants.

Next, fold back your one-piece pocket creating the pocket bag and facing. Pin and stay stitch the top and side of your pockets to hold in place. Sew along the bottom of your pocket to close.

Pin together your front pieces at the front rise right below your fly extentions and stitch.

Sew in your darts on the back pant pieces then stitch the backs together at the back rise seam.

Pin the front of your pant to the back at the side seams and stitch. Do the same along the inseam.

Now, turn back the fly extensions on each side and top stitch along the edge. Next, top stitch along the curve of the fly on the opening side.

Note: The good thing about this beautiful faux leather is that is has stretch! So I took advantage by making it a faux fly! Adding a zipper is completely up to you.

Sew together your waistband pieces then attach to the top of your pant. Slip stitch waistband closed on the inside edge.

Sew in your buttonhole and attach your button to close.

To make the fly opening at front, simply stitch down the fly front halfway down and backtack. Add 2 large hook and eye closures to the top right below your button to help keep flat.

For my top, I simply made a knit version of our Onella Blouse. All you have to do is cut off the front placket on the center front pattern piece. Now use that edge to cut your fabric on the fold. Slightly gather your neck at the small opening and that's it!
