Here's how to sew:

First, pin your center front pieces to your side front pieces. Clip into the the seam allowance and press the seams.

Next, pin the side fronts to your back pattern pieces and sew. Make sure to leave open the side seam on the wearer's left side. This is where you will insert your zipper.  Complete this steps for the self facing pattern pieces as well.

Fold over each strap in half and press. Stitch along the sides then turn with a loop turner. Press each strap.

Insert your straps in between your facing and pin them to the top of your bodice on the front and back. Straps should be sandwiched in between the facing and outer front bodice.

Set the top aside for now and work on the pant portion.

Sew in the darts on the front and back pieces of your pant. Using a French seam, sew together the front and back rise, and along the side seams.

The bottom cuff is made up of two pieces; one for the front and one for the back. Sew together your cuffs and attach to the bottom of your pant.  For fun, try cutting your cuffs on the bias for a contrast in pattern.

Remember to leave open the top of the pant on the wearer's left side for the zipper.

Sew together your belt and use the loop turner to turn it right side out. You can self draft belt loops or make simple belt loops by using your thread to make a chain stitch loops.
