Begin by pinning and sewing your heart binding to the front panel of your shirt, like you see below. Note - the right side of your binding should be placed against the wrong side of your shirt fabric.

Notch the seam allowance, especially along the curves of the heart and bottom corner, and pull the binding toward the right side of your shirt. Edge-stitch around the heart to keep it in place.

To begin forming your shirt, sew the front and back panels together at the shoulders and side seams using a stretch stitch on your regular machine or serger. Sew up the center back seam of your collar (the shorter edges), fold it in half along the length so it's 1/2 the height, and attach it to the neckline of your shirt. If you've made our Felicia Sweater, this shirt goes together very similarly!

Once the main portion of your shirt is complete, set it aside to take a look at your sleeves. Before sewing them together, you'll want to create the stripes to go down the center.

To do this, take the strips your cut from your pattern and fold them in thirds along the length. I recommend using Wonder Clips to keep the shape, since pins will leave permanent holes in the reflective fabric.

Place two stripes 1/2" apart down the center of each of your sleeves, and edge-stitch into place. Sew up the inseam of your sleeves and then set them into the armscyes of your shirt.

Lastly, hem the bottom of your shirt and sleeves, and your new crop top is ready to rock!

We've paired our Pyrus Top with a redux of our Banksia Pants, which skipped the paneling included in the original pattern. To create your own version like this, simply overlap your Banksia panels 1" and tape them together to form a solid pant let pattern.
