How To Sew The Rosalina Bodycon Dress Free Sewing Pattern:
*Use a 1/2″ seam allowance for all seams unless otherwise specified.
Step 1
Individually pin the lining layers and the self layers at center back, then sew each using a lightning stitch.
Step 2
Create 2 rows of basting stitches on both side seams, then pull the thread to create the ruching effect.
Step 3
Create the same ruching effect to the front panel, then sew front and back together at the side seams.
Step 4
Sew front and back of the lining fabric at the side seams, making sure the length of the self and lining match.
Step 5
Create the skirt panel to your desired length by following the skirt cutting diagram.
Step 6
Create 2 basting stitches at the top of the skirt and evenly distribute the gathers.
Step 7
Create the shoulder straps by folding them right sides together and sewing 1/2″ seam allowance.
Step 8
Trim the seam allowance and use a loop turner to turn them right side out.
Step 9
To create the adjustable straps, Trim 5″ from the end of both straps to use as the back loops. Add the metal sliders and fold the small strips in half. Pass the long strap through a metal slider first, under then over. Bring the long strap across the back and pass through the top of the back loop. Bring the end back to the first slider and pass it under the first route again. Sew the end to the side of the strap with the metal slider.
Step 10
Attach the straps to the notches at the front, then attach the opposite ends to the notches at the back.
Step 11
Sew the lining fabric to the self fabric at the neckline, right sides together, with the straps facing down.
Step 12
Sew an understitch 1/8 “on the lining, making sure you catch both seam allowances.
Step 13
Sew the 2 layers together at the bottom hem to then attach the skirt.
Step 14
Sew the skirt at center back with right sides facing together.
Step 15
Sew the skirt onto the top panel to finish The Rosalina Bodycon Dress.

Very beautifull
It is a beautiful dress thank you for sharing. I want to make this for my grand daughter for next year’s Valentine’s ball and then forward a photograph to you. Awesome instructions and video, thank you once again.
Did you hem the skirt?
Yes, finish the skirt with a rolled hem or a 1/4″ double folded hem.
Love this dress and the instructions make this so, so idiot-proof!
I’m making this for my upcoming cruise in a beautiful bottle green.
Hi!
I’m about to make this dress for the Holiday’s in coming 🙂 can I use a light jersey for the lining ? (same fabric we use for tee-shirts)
I am just trying to use what I already own !
Thank you for this beautiful – yet easy – pattern !!
Yes, this bodycon dress can work well with a light jersey for the lining!
Hi! the dress is gorgeous, I cannot wait to make it! Do you think that it is possible to add a split to the lower part of the dress, or would it look weird with that type of fabric?
Thank you!
Hello! Since this pattern is made with a stretch fabric, creating a slit will cause the fabric to curl in an unpleasant way.
