How To Sew The Louise Wide Leg Pants Free Sewing Pattern:
*Use a 1/2″ seam allowance for all seams unless otherwise specified.
The instructions provided are designed to guide you through sewing the main fabric and the lining fabric simultaneously.
Step 1
Sew the front pant pieces together at center front.
Step 2
Sew the back pant pieces together at center back.
Note – Since the main fabric is longer than the lining to account for the waistband, the sewing process to join the main fabric and lining fabric is done differently.
Step 3
Place the front lining on top the front main fabric, wrong sides together, and sew them at the side seams with 1/4″ seam allowance.
Step 4
Place the back lining over the back main fabric, wrong sides together, then sew 1/4″ at the side seams.
Step 5
Once the main fabric and the lining are sewn at the front and the back, join them all together at the side seams and sew 1/2″ with right sides facing each other.
Step 6
Sew front and back together along the inseam.
Step 7
Fold the top of the main fabric towards the inside to create the waistband and the casing for the elastic.
Step 8
Sew along the edge of the waistband while catching the lining. Leave a 2″ opening at center back to insert the elastic.
Step 9
Use a safety pin to pass the elastic through one side of the opening and back out the other side. Sew both ends of the elastic together using a zig-zag stitch.
Step 10
Finish closing the waistband by sewing the 2″ opening along the edge.
Step 11
Finish the bottom of the pants by sewing a 1/4″ double folded hem. You can sew both layers together or hem each one individually.

Id love more styles that work with bigger bodies and particularly bigger chests. A lot of the recent patterns have been aimed towards smaller bodies and really don’t fit or work very well with bigger bodies. I love sewing these patterns but I finish them and it doesn’t work for ever wearing out of the house.
Hello,
