How To Sew The Valerie Vest Free Sewing Pattern:
*Use a 1/2″ seam allowance for all seams unless otherwise specified.
Step one – Sew the pockets to the front by topstitching around the edges.
Step two – Sew the front facing and front lining together at the princess seam.
Step three – Sew the back pieces together at center back for the self and the lining.
Step four – Sew front and back together at the side seams for the self fabric.
Step five – Sew front and back together at the side seams for the lining fabric.
Step six – Sew front and back together at the shoulder seams for the self fabric and the lining.
Step seven – Sew both collar pieces together across the top and the sides, leaving the bottom open. Trim the seam allowance from the corners and turn the collar right side out.
Step eight – Pin the lining to the self fabric with the collar sandwiched facing down between the neckline. Sew with right sides together all around the garment from top to bottom, making sure to leave a gap open about 4″ at the bottom to turn it right side out. Once the vest is turned outward, blind stitch the opening to finish the lining.
Step nine – Create bias binding for the armholes by making strips 1.5″ cut on bias.
Step ten – Fold the binding seam allowance 1/2″ twice.
Step eleven – Pin and sew one side of the binding to the outside of the armhole, then flip over to the inside to sew the other side of the binding.
Step twelve – Fold and sew the belt loop right sides together, then use a loop turner to turn it outward. Topstitch the belt loops over the side seams of the vest.
Step thirteen – Sew the belt pieces together across the top and the bottom. After turning the belt outward, fold in the seam allowance on both ends and topstitch each side to close the belt.
Step fourteen – Thread a needle and hand sew the beaded tassels to the ends of the belt.

Beautiful Pattern 😀
please advise how to download just the Penelope pants pattern without purchasing the tassels, cloth and thread. I can’t see how to do that anywhere.
Many thanks, Greta
Hello, please look for the download box under the post that says download The Penelope Pants Sewing Pattern
I absolutely LOVE your free patterns. But please, please make them in larger or multiple bust sizes for those of us who are not B cups. Thanks
Christina
Merci à vous …c’est un modèle que je verrais bien dans un petit lainage pour l’automne

I have entered my email address for the penelope pants, but I have not received it. Love these pants and it is exactly what I wanted.
Hello, Please email info@moodfabrics.com for any issues with pattern downloads.
Can you break down the fabric recommendations by size and pattern? My size 24 behind is going to need more than your pretty model. 🙂 I’m not sure how much fabric to estimate for just the pants.
Hello, you will need 3 yards for a size 24 in The Penelope Pants.
Are there hacks for the top? Just curious about different closures for it other than the belt.
You can use other methods such as buttons, snaps, side tie, ribbon with grommets, or a separating zipper.
