Comic Con time is upon us and I’m sure we’ve all been slaving away at our costumes for the last three months (well, at least I have). Year after year cosplayers spend countless hours piecing together the most beautiful and authentic costumes, and every year I can’t wait to nerd out with them over what materials they used and how they came up with their ideas. I’m going to share with you my findings and the most trending cosplays I’ve seen so far.
The Incredibles
I Love that this family perfectly cosplayed the characters from The Incredibles! The baby dressed as Jack Jack? Are you kidding me? So freaking adorable!
May we suggest:
Thanos
I was hoping someone was going to do a rendition of one of my favorite Marvel characters of all time-Thanos. And boy did this guy deliver! Every single detail of this costume was SPOT ON! I can’t fathom as to how much time and effort went into making this.
May we suggest:
The Guardians of the Galaxy
This is a cosplay group I would love to do with my friends. The Guardians of the Galaxy are such a fun group both on and off the screen. I love this rendition of Rocket Racoon. This group did a fantastic job!
May we suggest:
Handmaid’s Tale
What a creepy show this Hulu Original is. And these guys got the costumes down pat. This being one of the hottest shows on TV, there were hundreds of them floating around. Although this is a relatively simple cosplay, everyone who wore it nailed it!
May we suggest:
Stranger Things
OMG how can you not love these kids! This is another fantasy group cosplay I would love to do. This group of cosplayers looked…bitchin’!
May we suggest:
White Walker
Come on, how funny is this White Walker with a baby strapped to his chest? And how awesome is that FX makeup?? As a die-hard GoT fan, I give this cosplay a mega thumbs up!
May we suggest:
Rick and Morty
Couple goals right here! This hilarious cosplay of Rick and Morty had me in stitches. The attention to detail in Rick’s hair and the little Meseeks doll in his pocket were too much.
May we suggest:
Bob’s Burger
Those burgers look tasty, and so do these costumes! The Bob’s Burgers gang is another fun group cosplay that’s simple and is bound to make everyone laugh. You know you’re thinking about ‘butts’ in Tina’s voice right now too.
May we suggest:
Wonder Woman
What little girl didn’t want to be Wonder Woman when she grew up? Same could be said about every big girl. She’s strong, confident and has bomb superpowers! The great thing about this cosplay is there are so many different renditions of it, so there’s plenty of room to be creative. This cosplayer took this costume in a more vintage direction and we’re loving it!
May we suggest:
Cosplay making tip! Is a leather not quite the color you want? try aging it with some leather paint!
Deadpool
This has to be one of my favorite cosplays of all time. I must have seen over a hundred cross plays with Deadpool and other characters and each one was funnier than the last. The Goku version of Deadpool in this picture has to be my favorite.
May we suggest:
Dr. Strange
That isn’t photoshop folks. This awesome cosplayer MADE this time spell herself! This is the kind of over the top cosplaying that makes Comic Con such a magical event.
May we suggest:
Venom
Body painting is so mesmerizing, and this painted Venom is no exception. The artist’s attention to detail with the tongue and the tears in the ‘fabric’ made this character come to life. I know I wouldn’t want to run into this guy on a dark street!
Another option in addition to body painting would be to make a form-fitting suit. May we suggest:
Thor, Loki, and Hela
Talk about a dysfunctional family. What’s not dysfunctional are these headpieces! The craftsmanship of these cosplays is top notch!
