Trousers, pants, slacks, whatever you call them, they’re a necessary garment in every wardrobe. Although many think they’re simple, pants silhouettes come in many varieties. Let’s take a look at the most popular pants of 2018 thus far, and what will continue into Fall 2018.
Flared Pant Legs
Flared pant legs have become increasingly popular, especially those on the shorter end. Both Carolina Herrera and Rosetta Getty utilize shorter pants while creating the flared leg, while Cushnie et Ochs went with ones so long that heels are a necessary accessory.
Add some flash with flare pants:
Shortened pants are all the rage, revealing models’ ankles all over the runway. Alice + Olivia, Just Cavalli, and Temperley London all show off short pants with wide leg trousers, while Veronica Beard’s stay pretty straight. Cushnie et Ochs’ stunning matching set uses flared legs and bell sleeves, creating beautiful symmetry.
Show off some short pants with these fabrics:
The wide-leg trouser is an elegant trend that’s been making its way down the runway all year. Alice + Olivia show off a simple pair, while J. Mendel adds some contrast seams for a look that will pop. Khaite and Temperley London both feature a thicker hem line at the bottom, while Nili Lotan leaves their trousers without a hem for a relaxed look.
Work it with wide leg pants:
Wool trousers are the perfect professional pant. Chanel uses their staple tweed for a funky trouser, while Missoni’s is a mix of colors. Khaite’s suit is simply stunning, with a beautiful blazer and gorgeous wide-leg wool trousers, and Oscar de la Renta goes for a more casual ensemble with houndstooth wool trousers.
