Couture fashion weeks are like something out of a dream. The best designers get to show off, fashioning extravagant works of art that stun and inspire. This fall’s iteration was no different, with designers such as Schiaparelli and Balenciaga going viral for their over-the-top, star-studded runways. This season’s shows focused on the aspirational and the glamorous, with a focus on the fusion between man, nature, and machine. Check out all the trends from 2022’s Fall Couture Fashion Week below.
Pretty Woman
When it comes to iconic movie moments, Julia Roberts’ red dress in Pretty Woman tops the list. With a plunging sweetheart neck and form-fitting silhouette, designers are updating this piece of ’90s fashion history for the current day. Flower Power
Florals showed up in unexpected ways this season; as literal blooms upon the model’s shoulders and clothes. Blurring the line between fantasy and reality, these blossoms evoke Impressionist and Post-Impressionist masters and further elevate the cottagecore trend.

Free Folkwear
Inspirations from traditional and folk dress brought fashion fans around the world; from the romanticism of the American West, to rich Kente and African textiles, to Eastern European-inspired gowns. This mix celebrates our diverse, interconnected world that we continue to shape and refine in 2022.

Sculpture and Structure
Corsets continue to rule ready-wear, so naturally, couture fashion week was filled with twists on the traditional silhouette. Sculptural gowns and asymmetrical corsets abstracted the corset into wearable art, often decorated with tentacle-like accents on shoulders and hips.
